At East Ardsley Primary Academy we have four school rules which we feel encompass our philosophy:
- Respect everyone and everything.
- Keep yourself and others safe.
- Be responsible for your actions.
- Enable yourself and others to learn.
We take time in circle time and Assemblies to go over the school rules, to reinforce what good behaviour looks like and to share examples of good behaviour.
Children are rewarded for good behaviour. We have Raffle Tickets for children following the school rules and showing a good Growth Mindset. At the beginning of each half term we have a Rewards Assembly to show our appreciation for all the children's hard work, positive attitude and behaviour for the previous half term.
Raffle Tickets are drawn out randomly and rewards include a £10, 2x £5 vouchers (for Smyths Toy Superstore or Smiggle) plus hot chocolate with the Principal.
Two Praise Postcards are also sent out half termly. These are written by class teachers and celebrate children's hard work. Our children enjoy receiving these in the post.
We have set systems and procedures to manage times when children's behaviour is not as good as it should be. These are outlined in the following policies:
The Principal is the only person who has the power to exclude a pupil and must give careful consideration to the law in so doing. The requirements for exclusion can be read here.
